A one week cruise fom Cienfuegos to Cayo Largo and back

Itinerary Description

Embarkation at 14.00 hr from Cienfuegos Yachtclub to navigate to a small beach El Tamarindo ( 2 hours ) outside the Cienfuegos bay where it is very nice snorkeling, swimming and sunbathing on the beach.

After breakfast sailing to Cayo Guano ( 7 hours ) with lunch and trawl fishing while navigating – we’ll anchor at about 30 m from shore where underwater activities can be practised ( swimming and snorkelling) – after which you should relax and dinner on board.

After breakfast you might sail to Cayo Sal in about 2 hours – in this island there is a beautiful coral reef with different species and sizes of fish, langoustes and nurse sharks, the ideal spot to do some snorkelling or fishing – lunch on board - visit of the island which has a natural Laguna in its centre which converted in a salt lake.

After breakfast you sail to Cayo Largo in about 5 hours with lunch and trawl fishing while navigating - visit of Playa Sirena – one of the most beautiful beaches on the south coast, with incomparable white sands – beach activities and snorkelling – entry in the marina from Cayo Largo where a visit to the turtle aquarium is possible – there are also some restaurants, bars and hotels with night activities.

After breakfast you should go by dinghy to Cayo Iguana where prehistorical animals can be observed in their natural element – lunch on board – in the afternoon you can go by boat to Cayo Hijo de los Ballenatos, one of the most spectacular islands in the area where it is a great show feeding the abundant quantity of different fishes so that the sea around the boat becomes a natural aquarium.

After breakfast you cruise to Cayo Ingles ( 5 hours ) – do lunch and trawl fishing on the way – around this island you can do some snorkelling on a nice coral reef. The same day you sail to Cayo Guano and have dinner on board.

after breakfast you can sail back to Cienfuegos ( 8 hours ) with lunch and trawl fishing on the way – entry and disembarkation at the marina around 17.00 hr.

After breakfast navigation to Cayo Bianco de Casilda ( 6 hours ) lunch and trawl fishing while navigating – a visit to this cayo (island) is possible where there is an open restaurant (ranchon) on the beach with various seafood dishes and local cocktails - also some iguanas can be observed in their natural environment. Then possible snorkeling in the coral reef.

After breakfast navigation to Cayo Macho ( 2 hours ) - visit of the island with several beaches and coral reefs - also here some iguanas and jutias in their natural element - lunch on board - and the afternoon at leisure of the clients.

After breakfast sailing to the marina of Trinidad ( 3 hours ) - after a fast lunch in the boat visit of the historical center of Trinidad, a city build in 1512, classified as world monument with a lot of museums and places to visit - dinner in the famous paladar (private restaurant) Sol y Son, very well known in Trinidad for its excellent food and service.

7.00 hrs a.m.: after an early breakfast sailing back to Cienfuegos ( 8 hours) with lunch and trawl fishing while navigating - entering the marina Cienfuegos at about 15:00 hrs.
